Taiko Drumming Performance

Brenna is in a Taiko Drumming Club at her school. They practice two times/week and this was their first performance! Morgan is in the same club, but they practice on different days. Taiko drumming is an Okinawan form of dance and music and it is hugely popular throughout the island. Each little 'township' has their own club, and several times a year they all get together for festivals and parades and perform together and in competition. We attended the Eisa Festival this past August which had over 10,000 Taiko drummers and dancers. It is a really unique experience for these kids to be able to learn a native art and they love it!!!

I'm sorry the video is so short. I will work on trying to download another song that is longer.

This is fun, Brenna and Morgan! You girls are so lucky to get to experience these cultural things.

Pam, I don't know how to call you so I missed your birthday. You were on line for awhile but must have been away from your computer. I hope you had a great one. Next year is the biggie! Love you!

I LOVE reading and hearing about all the adventures the girls are doing! Landon has a taiko nintendo drum and I think that is hard enough...and then you add dancing to it?? Way to go girls!
